What kind of church is Life Church?
Life Church is an interdenominational, multi-cultural congregation with people from all Christian denominational backgrounds as well as many with no past church affiliation.
What can I expect if I attend a worship service?
Many people who have described their first visit to Life say “It felt like I was coming home.” Friendly greeters and ushers will meet you at the entrance to welcome you and offer assistance in seating, if needed. You’ll find an upbeat, contemporary worship style involving a band and praise team. The lyrics to the songs are projected on a large video screen so you can sing along. Our pastors are gifted to teach with a mix of humor and practical application of Scripture. With the use of sermon outlines that you can take home, you will likely leave encouraged, informed and most importantly, transformed by the power of God’s Word.
Is there a recommended dress code?
Dress ranges from casual to business casual to business attire. It’s up to you! The style of dress is never a focal point in our worship services. Make yourself at home.
What does Life Church offer my children?
We have a full-time Children’s Pastor on staff who leads an incredible team of volunteers. Services at Life include a Life Kidz ministry that runs concurrently with adult worship, ministering to children through the 6th grade. Thirty minutes prior to each service, an arcade is open for 1st-6th graders with video games, tabletop games, and more. All other classes from the nurseries to the 5yr olds-Kindergarten class are also open 30 minutes prior to service with an array of age-appropriate toys to make the transition of going to class much easier. Although Life Kids ministry at Life means fun, your children will learn a lot about Jesus and how He taught us to live and love.
What does Life Church have for the youth?
Our Student Pastor has a gift of leadership and offers life-changing teaching for youth. Each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., Life 180 (7th-12th grades) meets to hold a special youth-led worship service. Prior to the service, they can gather in the youth lounge for fellowship, ping pong, pool, or video games. At Life, we are raising champions for Christ!
Do you have a Sunday School?
No, but we do have small groups (Life Groups). Many Life Groups meet on Wednesday nights at 6:30 (the same time Life 180, youth, and Life Kids, children, ministries meet). Usually on the first Wednesday of each month we gather in the sanctuary for worship (similar to a Sunday worship service). Wednesday night's services and/or Life Groups are from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. For more information about a Life Group call the church at (601)428-LIFE.
Why do you not have Sunday night services?
Experience in church has given our leadership this observation: Sunday, a day designed as a day of rest, can be physically draining given the schedule of many churches. We believe family is important, and many of our members use Sunday evening as their special family time. Often, other church fellowship functions are also offered on Sunday evenings.
How can I submit a prayer need?
Our prayer team would love to join with you in sharing your prayer requests. Simply go to the "Contact Us" page and send us an email or contact us by Facebook. There is a link to our Facebook page on the "Contact Us" page.
Do you have a coffee shop?
Yes. Higher Grounds Coffee Shop is open on Sunday mornings from 8:30 am- 10:00 am, serving cappuccinos, lattes, smoothies, soft drinks, and good old "regular" coffee, too.
