"Redeemed by His Grace"
"Redeemed by His Grace"
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace. (Ephesians 1:7)
The devil’s most powerful weapon against us is condemnation. He likes to continuously remind us of things we did in the past that we are not proud of, and we all have such things. If we let the past condemn us, we cannot see a successful future. I am going to present several devotions on redemption so you can realize who you are in Christ because once you realize that, the devil cannot condemn you.
We know that the Old Testament is based on law and the New Testament is based on grace. Today’s scripture points out that you have redemption through the blood of Jesus and that redemption grants you forgiveness for ALL of your trespasses you have ever committed and ALL you will commit before going to your heavenly home. All of this is a result of God’s grace. Your forgiveness comes from love. This is the
Father’s love for His only begotten Son and the Father’s love for you; it is also Jesus’s love for you. When Jesus died on the cross, He died for all mankind—not just the Jews—but all mankind. This includes those that brought about every atrocity ever committed. All the evil in the world can be forgiven if the evildoers will submit to God’s grace and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Jesus’s death covers all the sins that were ever committed and ever will be committed for the rest of this planet’s existence as we know it.
All this is the result of His grace. You are covered with grace even though you have done absolutely nothing to deserve it, and there is nothing you can do to earn it. It is God’s love for you. Receive it and walk in God’s forgiveness.
When the devil puts thoughts in your mind, reminding you of all the horrible things you have done, you can say “yes devil, you are correct. I did do those horrible things, but you know what, Jesus died for me so those things are all totally erased. My slate is clean. I am a child of God. You have no place in my mind or body. Be gone from me in the name of Jesus.” Then move on, holding you head high and give praise to your God.
Thank You, Father, for Your grace that abounds to all mankind even though we have done
absolutely nothing to deserve it, nor can we earn it, nor can we pay You back in any way. It is truly unconditional love that You have for us, a love that we can only think about but cannot fully comprehend. I thank You again for that love, and while I cannot pay You back for all that You have done and will do for me, I resolve to serve You with all my heart and to make every attempt to fulfill the call that You have placed on my life. I am not worthy of that call based on my own merit, but Your righteousness makes me worthy. Continue to guide me in that call by the power of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
