Shout for Joy

"Shout for Joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of His name: give to Him glorious praise!" ~Psalm 66:1-2

Have you ever thought what might happen if we got as excited over Jesus as we do a football game, a nascar race or our kids baseball games?

Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with being passionate about your favorite team! I have my favorite team and I yell pretty loud for them too! Yes, It's fun, it's exciting and it gets our mind off all our problems...for a little while anyway. It also allows us to spend quality time with friends and family! When they win, we celebrate, we talk about it for days, we brag and rag our friends, yep, our passion is strong, and that's ok! However, when the game is finished, the season ends, that's it, it's over until next year. Now what do we do to fill the void?

So I ask again, what if we got that excited over Jesus? What if we couldn't wait for the weekend because we "get" to go to church? What if we got up every morning singing and shouting His praise, what if we spent all day talking about our Savior? I wonder if that would make any difference in our lives, the lives of our friends and loved ones? I think it probably would!

Jesus loved us so much that He willingly gave His life on the cross; that alone should make us want to tell everyone we meet that Jesus Saves! We should want to tell them how He gives us everlasting hope, peace, joy and eternal life. ETERNAL...forever and ever! The void He fills doesn't last for just a day, a week, a season, His mercy and His amazing grace last throughout all Eternity. Now isn't that something to get excited about!

It sure makes me want to be more passionate about my Savior and I just might be shouting His praises a little louder!  So, if you see me today, I hope you can see that excitement and passion on my face; I hope you can hear it in my voice, and don't be surprised if I tell you what Jesus has done for me because He is good and He is faithful!
